Memorial Biography

RuiNian Wang, 87, passed away Sunday, Oct. 07, 2018 at 6:40 p.m. from heart and lung failure caused by severe anemia.

He is survived by his wife, Caiying Zhang and his daughters, Hong Xiang and Judy.

Dr. Ruinian Wang was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Shanghai China.  He graduated from Shanghai St. Johns University in 1953 and became a pathology professor at Shanghai Second Medical School. He went on to mentor many students in medical research. He had great accomplishments in cancer research. He was also tasked by the Chinese government to lead several important research projects. Dr. Wang also was one of founders who helped build and establish Tibet medical school. After the medical school's completion, he also helped train the first class of Tibetan doctors to graduate from the school.

Memorial Services were held at 2 p.m.,Tuesday, October 9, at Chinese Evangelical Church 3617 Betty Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80917

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Alternative Cremation Funeral Home, Colorado Springs CO.

王瑞年于2018年10月7号晚6:40 因心肺衰竭病逝, 享年87岁。 王瑞年生于1930年12月10号。王瑞年留下妻子张彩英和两女儿鸿翔和鸿秀。

王瑞年是一名病理科教授。他1953毕业于上海圣约翰大学,是上海第二医学院的病理教授。 他培养了成绩卓越的研究生十余人, 参与并负责了几大个国家重要的科研项目。 在胃癌研究领域颇有建树。 王瑞年于也是西藏医学院建设者之一,帮助培养了第一批当地西藏自己的医生队伍,而且是现在西藏医疗界的骨干力量。
